They kicked off the morning with a coffee and hot chocolate at Starbucks. I spent the morning there as well but was working hard while they were off playing! Somebody has to pay the bills around here right??
When they got there, one of the workers asked Ryan if he was a T-mobile customer and lucky for him, his work phone is. It happened they were sponsoring the event and all T-mobile customers got to go in special quick lines. They didn't wait in any lines all day.
Feet in the air and everything! Look at that smile on his face! Such a happy, happy boy!
Ben didn't mess around with the little kid stuff! He went straight to the batting cages!
They had a simulation where you got to steal bases and play like you are in a real game. A light would determine when you were supposed to run. Unfortunately, Ben was really focused and when he was about to steal 2nd a news reporter from Kare11 news came up to try and talk to Ben. Ben missed his chance to steal 2nd and burst into tears! He wanted nothing to do with the lady that was trying to talk to him! I guess he missed his moment for TV!
Leading off to steal 2nd again on another attempt!
At the last minute one of our neighbors got tickets to the Home Run derby the night before the All-star game. After much contemplating about should he or shouldn't he go, Ryan went to the Home Run derby with him. They had a great time!
What a fun event for my two baseball fans! Just think you can go again in 30 years when it is back in Minneapolis again! It might be a 3 generation event at that point!
