This past weekend we took Ben to the Moondogs game in Mankato. It is a great kid friendly way to see a baseball game! There is entertainment for all ages at the Moondogs game. One game they play is a kid goes on the field and picks up a piece of cardboard laying face down on the ground. There is a number on it. The number represents the player from the batter line up on the opposing team. Anytime that player strikes out during the game beer is half off for the inning. They drew number 1. The number 1 on the opposing team was Dakota Smith. Dakota had a bad game...he struck out 5 times! You know Ryan...he is always up for drink specials and a great deal! He couldn't turn down $2 beers! Needless to say...I drove us home.
Grandpa and Grandma Fox came along as well!
A local bank was a sponsor for the game. They gave all of the kids piggy banks and threw coins out on the field after the game. Ben was able to get a quarter. The real excitement though was being on the field!

It's a HOME RUN!! Nice work Ben! Right before Ben touched homeplate, he stopped, bent over, cleaned off the plate and than jumped on it. I think he has been watching the umpires too much during the game!
Ryan is already checking the schedule to see when he can take Ben to another Moondogs game!
