BEN AND ALEX'S SUMMER OF FUN

This summer was the first time we had a Nanny.  I was very apprehensive to go this route since I work out of my house when I am not meeting with clients.  I was concerned the kids would keep coming in the office when I am leading conference calls and be disruptive. I had nothing to worry about.  The summer flew by and everything went great! Our favorite teacher from Primrose got a new teaching job with the school district and had summer offs.  We were lucky that she agreed to watch Ben and Alex! Eli kept his normal routine at Primrose so the older boys could have some fun! They had a ton of fun and Ryan and I started to call it the "Summer of Ben and Alex!" They were busy!
The first week the boys participated in Vacation Bible School and loved it.
They kept on the move all the time. The kids were exhausted at night but had so much fun! Ms. DeMorett was great at finding activities and we had the boys in some camps. Ben had floor hockey, basketball, golf and flag football activities and Alex had a mini-sports camp of soccer and t-ball. It was great because our evenings were wide open since they were able to participate in activities during the day!
 Alex's soccer camp
Both boys had swimming every week

Some of the other activities they did...
 The zoo
 Saints game
Valleyfair...a lot!  Thank goodness for season passes!
 Paddle boating at Centennial lakes
Crayola experience at the Mall of America
Mall of America- rides, Double Dare, Mirror Maze and much more
 Scott county fair
Occasionally they would walk and pick up Eli and let him join in on the fun!
It wasn't all play and no work for Ben and Alex. Ms. DeMorett had structured reading activities and homework for them to work on.  Alex improved a ton over the summer with his coloring, writing and speech.  They had made science projects, colored t-shirts and wrote in a journal.  They were very creative in  decorating cards and their gifts!
I was lucky to even get a gift of my own- a photo mug and flowers!
We would get weekly logs on what they did. Of course I was tired just reading about all of their activities...maybe a little jealous to of all the fun they were having!
We miss you Ms. DeMorett and hope you will come again next summer!
