OH ALEX

Alex has been keeping us on our toes these last few months!  He had his 18 month check the other day.  He has slowed down on the weight gain.  He is 28 pounds which is in the 90% and his height is 35 1/2 inches which is in the greater than 97%. His head is 19 1/4 which is 75%.

Alex is also sporting a new look these days!

Alex got glasses!  His eye had been turning in and I took him to the specialist the other week. Lucky guy got my eyes!  I'm sorry Alex.  We found out he is very far sighted and with the crossing, we are hoping that the glasses will help correct the turning of the eye.  If not, they will patch his good eye to help strengthen his bad eye. If that doesn't work, they will do eye surgery. I hope it doesn't come to that but I have had it done 3 times so I am not overly optimistic. He has done amazing wearing his new glasses.  The lens are already scratched so I have a feeling we will be buying multiple pairs.

We also have a walker and a dancer!   Check out our random Tuesday night dance party after dinner! Alex finally started walking around memorial day.  He still looks like a drunken sailor sometimes but Ryan and I are so happy that we are not carrying around 28 pounds anymore!

After the Nutella breakout, we have been trying to figure out Alex's allergies.  We had some blood drawn at his 18 month check.  He tested positive for a peanut, hazelnut and a milk allergy. I suspect it is a dairy allergy and not just milk based upon his breakouts and attitude.  Currently Alex is enjoying Rice milk.  We have also eliminated most dairy from his diet.  This is hard for us since we love cheese! I personally think he has been much happier since we have taken these steps.  I promise we will get all of this figured out for you big guy!

Alex's recent note he brought home from daycare:
"Dear Alex,
We wanted to tell you what a great helper you are! You are always happy to help and do a great job putting toys in their buckets.  We are so proud of you and appreciate your good helping skills!"

Can you tell this is my son??  He got his dancing moves from his dad! We love you Alex!
