HOLIDAY FESTVITIES

We are in the Christmas spirit at our house this year!  Ben is at a great age to understand and is very excited about Santa and his Elf on the shelf, Elfie.  Elfie appeared right after Thanksgiving and has made Ben behave like an angel mostly.  Elfie comes to visit everyday and watches the boys behavior and flies home to the North Pole after the boys are asleep to report about their day.  Ben has been great at staying in bed this holiday season! I wonder if all holidays have a special magical friend?

We made Cinnamon popcorn the other night and Elfie thought he needed some as well.

Santa made a special appearance at Ben's school the other weekend.  Unfortunately, Alex was home sick but Ben did well sitting on his lap and telling him what is on his Christmas list .

Our town had "Winterfest" in downtown Savage the other night. Ryan had to work late so Lindsey came over and went with the boys and me. Unfortunately, we got there late and missed the Winter parade but we still had fun petting the reindeer and walking around. Ben enjoyed watching the fireworks, while Alex cried with the noise. We were a little too close to the excitement for his preference.

Ben wrote his letter to Santa the other night.  We put it in an envelope and Elfie delivered it for us.
Translation:  Dear Santa, How have you been?  I have been a good listener. For Christmas I would like: Old Maid, a Trailer and a Kitchen.  Ben
If you look closely, you can put it together.  We are not sure where the kitchen request came from.  When I asked him, he told me he wants to cook in the kitchen like his mom and dad. When Ryan asked him where his kitchen should go, Ben said it should go in the middle of the living room.  Nice try Ben.  We will find a good spot in your playroom for that Kitchen if Santa gives you one.  He wants Old Maid because he bent the last Old Maid in the game we had so Ryan and I won't play with him anymore.  The trailer is for his cows.  I guess he has a trailer and it broke.  He used to say he wanted socks as well because all of his have holes in them and his mom won't buy him new socks.  I think Santa still might get him some!

Ben had a Christmas party at school the other day. Nana is home from Florida and went with me. They had lots of arts and crafts and cookies to decorate.  It is always fun seeing Ben interact with his friends.

Only a few more days until Santa comes! The countdown has begun at our house!
