NEW DECK

Who knew getting a new deck could be so exciting! After much debate on how long we should hold off to do the deck, spring fever got the best of us and we decided that we would love to have a deck this summer. At first we thought we would gather all of our handy friends and family members to 'help' us build a deck. After about 5 minutes of talking about that, we came to our senses, as all of you probably know, we are not very handy in the building and fixing things department. We decided to save our sanity, swearing and frustrations and hire someone to build it for us. Ben had so much fun watching. We have hope for him in the handyman department. He got out his tools and wanted to help the builders. He also wanted to wear his hammer in his pockets like the guys did. Good thing he has some carpenter jeans! Below are the before and after shots. It isn't entirely done yet but it is getting there.

You could find Ben watching most of the day on Saturday. He turned his chair around in the dinning room and was a great inspector

Ben was so excited to break in the new deck last night and eat outside for dinner..not sure where that warm weather is today however...
